Spectrometer (2017)

Used to sample multiple wavelengths of light simultaneously, this housing was commissioned by the Bemuda Institute of Sciences to measure the lighting regimes on coral reefs. This handheld unit was designed with durable skids and 30M below sea rating.

“I can estimate pigment composition (e.g., how much chlorophyll is present) and even estimate photosynthetic efficiency. The housing serves its role perfectly—allowing me to bring the spectrometer to the reef plants.” – Eric J. Hochberg, Ph.D., Senior Scientist, Bermuda Institute of Ocean Sciences
